Kollektiv 349 is a self-organized initiative of both students and alumni of Klasse David Schutter at the Universität der Kǔnste, Berlin. The collective creates direct, non-hierarchical interactions between art and the public, and seeks to bridge the gap between institutional and commercial art.
After 349’s initial exhibition took place in a Berlin bunker, their coming exhibition will be at the Kleiner Wasserspeicher in Prenzlauer Berg. Such choices underscore the collective’s commitment to acknowledging the layered histories of spaces and their awareness that every venue carries its own specific context.
The title of Kollektiv 349’s exhibition, addendum, refers to a supplement or addition—an extra layer that extends and complicates what has already been presented. This mirrors the collective’s approach of expanding established narratives through unconventional contributions.
The exhibition will coincide with Berlin Art
Week and a series of events organized by the University of Chicago’s Revolutionary Erotics seminar led by Prof. Leah Feldman. This collaboration will include a talk featuring David Schutter, A.A. Bronson, and Leah Feldman; a screening by dir. Dušan Makavejev, as well as other performances and events.
